Transformative Porcelain Veneers in Clintonville
If you’re looking for an answer for your cosmetically flawed teeth, the team at Creative Smiles has one for you: transformative porcelain veneers. These thin, tooth-shaped coverings are affixed to the front surface of the teeth that show when you smile. Dental veneers are placed over the course of just two visits to your cosmetic dentist, and can last for many years with proper upkeep. Are you ready to flaunt your best smile?
What Veneers Can Fix
Dental veneers are designed to correct any number of cosmetic issues affecting healthy teeth, all in a single treatment. Some of the imperfections that dental veneers can cover up include the following.
- Chipped, cracked, or broken teeth
- Slightly misaligned or gapped teeth
- Pitted and grooved or oddly textured teeth
- Misshapen teeth (pointy, too short)
- Severely stained or discolored teeth that have not responded to professional teeth whitening
Procedure for Veneers
Dental veneers are completed over the course of two visits to Creative Smiles. The first appointment is reserved for planning and preparation. Your veneers are created in the time between visits and placed in the second appointment.
To prepare your teeth for this treatment, we will need to remove a small sliver of tooth enamel from the surface of each tooth. That way, the veneers don’t stick out in the smile. Once there is enough room for the new veneers, we take a mold, or impression, of the teeth. This information is sent to our lab, where the veneers are crafted by an expert ceramist.
You wear temporary veneers in the time between appointments. When you return to our office, we will remove the temporaries and check to make sure the veneers look, fit, and feel just like they should. Your cosmetic dentist can still make adjustments at this stage if necessary. Once everything is just right, the veneers will be securely bonded onto the front teeth.
Benefits of Porcelain Veneers
- Many imperfections corrected in a single treatment
- Closely resembles the natural tooth enamel
- Highly stain resistant
Caring for Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers can be expected to last for many years with proper care and maintenance. You can brush and floss just like you’re used to to prevent cavities and gum disease. Visit your dentist regularly for checkups and cleanings to keep your oral health in check. If you play contact sports or grind your teeth at night, protect your smile with a custom fitted mouthguard.
Are Veneers Right for You?
Most adult patients (over the age of 18) are eligible candidates for dental veneers. You should be in good oral health, free of gum disease or tooth decay, before beginning with any elective dental treatment. If your front teeth are weak, worn, or decayed, sturdy porcelain crowns may be a more effective solution.
